DLP Programme Overview

The Developing Learning Programme aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms. The programme is designed and delivered by outstanding school leaders and, through a series of 5 half day structured CPD sessions based in schools, will draw upon focussed lesson observations, demonstration of leading practice and peer teaching opportunities. Each half day event leads directly into the development of a focussed area of practice back in school, to be supported by the home school mentor. It is imperative that teachers participating in the DLP programme have the support of an identified in-school mentor. Through their engagement on the programme teachers will:

  • develop skills and strategies to consistently achieve good learning and progress from their students
  • experience best practice to share with others in their departments and schools

The DLP consists of five half day face-to-face sessions. All sessions are held within schools as participants will be required to drop into lessons to observe real classroom practice in relation to the theme covered within each session. The session themes are:

  1. Engagement for Learning
  2. Assessment for Learning
