A Professional Development and Coaching Programme for Teachers
Learners First is delighted to announce a new, school-led CPD opportunity, ‘The Pursuit of Excellence Programme’. This has been designed by a team of National and Specialist Leaders of Education (NLEs and SLEs) and draws upon current evidence-based, classroom practice. The programme is designed for primary teachers and aims to enable and equip them to engage with system leadership across their schools/academies/MATs with a focus on achieving outstanding teaching and learning. Participants are required to attend both sessions outlined below and undertake follow-up activities within their own school/setting.
Course Dates 2018/19
Day One: 28th September 2018 – 9:00am – 3:00pm
The programme commences with a full day focussing on driving excellence in teaching. SLEs from Wickersley St Albans CofE Primary School and Flanderwell Primary School, both judged Outstanding, will lead the day and will explore how outstanding teaching uses principles of the following: Teach Simply, Practise Thoroughly, Feedback Constructively and Embody Excellence.
Day Two: 5th October 2018 – 9:00am – 3:00pm
A one day course focussing on developing coaching skills.
